Summer Road Trip: Cleveland, Ohio

Summer Road Trip: Cleveland, Ohio | Organized Mess

It's so fun to look back at trips from last year. Even if it's also a little depressing thinking about how ~normal ~ life was. (I MISS IT!!) Last year we planned a road trip to Cleveland, Ohio for our friend's wedding with a stop in Pittsburgh for a few days. We also stopped to see Fallingwater and hike at Ohiopyle state park which was so much fun. Time in nature is always so appreciated since we live in the city. By the time we arrived in Cleveland we were excited to check it out though! We ended up spending our first evening in Downtown Cleveland and Ohio City before checking into the place we were staying. Our airbnb was in the Tremont neighborhood so we ended up spending the rest of our free time in that neighborhood, which we loved!

DOWNTOWN/OHIO CITY

Visiting the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame | The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame was....overwhelming. Haha. We definitely didn't give ourselves enough time for this. We arrived about 2 hours before closing and I think it would've been more manageable with at least 3 hours. I did get to see the costume that Taylor Swift wore to the VMA's in 2014, so naturally that's what I was the most excited about. (lol). But seriously, there was a lot of interesting information on so many incredible artists!

Browsing West Side Market | West Side Market was packed with vendors, selling everything from meat to fresh veggies, desserts, flowers, spices and more. All of the pies and cakes looked especially yummy!

Dinner at Market Brewery | We ended up grabbing dinner at Market Brewery right next to the West Side Market. It was spacious with a beer garden and multiple bars. I grabbed a summery beer and a burger and it definitely hit the spot!

Ice Cream at Mason's Creamery | We loved this place! Mason's Creamery had adorable dog decor (seriously, look at that wallpaper!) and a fun variety of flavors like cinnamon french toast ice cream, cookie butter ice cream and more. I went with the matcha oreo and was not disappointed.

TREMONT

Brunch at Southside | Chicken and waffles. That's what Derek and I got for brunch and it was SO good. That tends to be one of my go-to brunch meals but it might have been the best I ever had here!

And at Bourbon Street Barrel | We loved this New Orleans themed restaurant. The chef is from Southern Louisiana and focuses on Creole and Cajun inspired cuisine like gumbo, jambalaya, beignets and more.

Coffee and Record Shopping at Loop | I was craving an oatmilk latte (typical) so we stopped by this adorable coffee shop not realizing that it was also a record store! It was fun to browse their selection and hang out on their comfy leather chairs.

Browsing Tremont | Tremont was full of adorable boutiques, restaurants, bakeries and coffee shops. I love finding lovely walkable neighborhoods in other cities and this was definitely one!
