A Look Back: October 2015

Um, hello November. You sure did come quickly! I can't believe my favorite month is already over. I was so excited about fall starting, I ate so many pumpkin flavored things, baked plenty of cookies and bought, possibly, too many fall scented candles. Here's a look back at the month -

What I Listened To
What I ReadThe Boy in the Striped Pajamas - John Boyne
I knew this was going to be a busy month, so I didn't want to read anything too lengthy or that would take too much energy. This book is written from the perspective of a little boy so it's an easy read. The book is based during the holocaust and the boys father is a German soldier, you read about what is going on in the boys mind during this terrible time and you can see what he does/doesn't understand. He ends up befriending a Jewish boy who is on "the other side of the fence" where they chat for hours everyday for over a year. Don't let the idea that it's an easy read fool you, the book is incredibly heartbreaking and keeps you thinking about what people have endured in the past.
