It's the end of a year! I honestly don't know how an entire year has flown by so quickly. Each year seems to be going faster than the last, which, admittedly, makes me even more nervous for the future than I already am. 2015 is going to be year of change and growth for me. It's going to be the year that I'll be living in England for 4 months, the year of graduating from college, (hopefully) the year of my first "big girl" job and the year that I'll be moving in with my high school sweetheart, Derek. So it's going to be a big one and despite the fear of finally "growing up" (whatever that really means), I'm so excited for new opportunities and change!
I'll have more on a few of my resolutions Friday. For now, here's a look at a few of my favorite outfits from the last year. Let me know which ones were your favorite! Also, I'm curious to know, what were some of your favorite fashion risks, mistakes and changes? 12. 4th of July Flashback
This outfit featured my favorite type of theme: a nautical one. These sailor shorts were on constant repeat all summer long and I love a classic boatneck silhouette. Plus the rope-patterned Keds were a comfy addition for a day at the lake.

I was actually just cleaning out my closet yesterday thinking to myself about how I barely have any tops for summer days when I realized it's because I live in dresses all summer long. I bought this one at a boutique a couple of years ago while it was on sale and assumed it wouldn't be very versatile but, boy, was I wrong. The assortment of colors within the dress has made it super easy to pair different accessories with. 10. 21
This sweet outfit was what I wore on my 21st birthday. My birthday is in May so the white and pastel colors felt super appropriate. Derek took me to Baltimore for a day of shopping, a visit to the aquarium and that evening he took me out for a fancy dinner (and my first legal glass of wine!) and it was perfect to transition outfit from day to night. My only regret is not adding a statement necklace to the outfit. 9. Bold Classics
I get super into themes. So wearing this in December on the day that Derek and I went to "Christmas Village" was almost too perfect. What else do you need for a German-themed Christmas shopping village than tights with gold polka dots, a gold belt and a big red skirt?8. Taken Away to the Dark Side
There are two things about this outfit that will forever be my favorite. First, this hat. This hat will always be my favorite accessory to add to any outfit. Always. Second, dresses with pockets. These pockets are so small and I couldn't even really fit anything in them, but I don't care. I just love dresses with pockets and I really can't explain why. When it comes to personal style I tend to be a girly-girl most of the time so adding more "masculine" pieces like the big ankle boots, fedora and t-shirt style dress was a little out of my comfort zone but I'm happy I dipped my toe out. 7. New Territory
Something about a short hair cut makes me want to take more risks when it comes to fashion. After the hair cut I've been playing around with crop tops more than ever. (Thank Taylor Swift for the inspiration.)6. Little Romance
I just love how vibrant this whole look it. I love skirts that are filled with color because it makes them versatile pieces. But my favorite thing about this particular skirt is how full it is. I love insanely "poofy" and/or romantic pieces. I also love outfits that tend to be unapologetically girly. 5. Cookie Baking Party
I was playing hostess the day that I wore this. I was throwing a Christmas-themed cookie baking party for my friends and this outfit felt Christmas cheery without being overwhelming thanks to the sparkle gold heels and hints of red and green in my accessories. And yes, I am wearing fairly thick nude colored stockings so I wasn't too terribly cold (kind of).4. Change
I got this outfit right before I cut my hair, after I had the appointment planned. I was so happy that I decided to wait and wear it until after the cut because it felt like the perfect outfit to wear to the appointment and to debut the new cut in. I'm having an obsession with matching sets at the moment so I'm not surprised this outfit made it into the top 5 despite the minimal accessories. 3. Stripes + Fit and Flare
I didn't go looking for this dress, it found me. Haha, but no really, I tried this on for fun and as soon as I put it on I knew I was taking it home with me. It was truly love at first sight and it's been so fun to change up the accessories with it. It's one of five dresses I'm taking with me to London for my 4-month stay. 2. Silver and Gold
The outfit I shared yesterday! I love how classic this look ended up being. The striped fit and flare dress, the satin-y pointed toe feel, the black and white bag and red lips. Ah, I think I mentioned in a post a week or two ago that I've been watching too many Audrey Hepburn movies lately and I think it's starting to show through my personal style. 1. Afternoon Bike Ride
I'm already a sucker for summer-wear so it wasn't much of a surprise that my "number 1" outfit of the year ended up being a summertime ensemble. Plus I have an obsession with bikes so this skirt was already a shoe-in for the win. And on top of that-red, navy and white is one of my personal favorite color combinations to wear.
I love that bike ride one, and the metallic striped dress! I'm jealous that you're going to London! It sounds like 2015 will be super excited and full of positive changes. Happy New Year! :)
