It's that time again! Happy Halloween everyone! Does anybody have any big plans? I'm heading out into Center City for the day to do a few Halloween-centered assignments for class and then I'll probably look up Hocus Pocus online, drink some hot chocolate and eat too much gummy candy corn (aka my new favorite thing). I love that Halloween is the first stepping stone into the Holiday Season! Yes, I'm that annoying person who is already thinking about Christmas. But I can't help it, this time of year is my absolute favorite. I already have my Thanksgiving outfit purchased and ready, like I said, I'm pretty excited about the holidays.

Derek and I carved this Pumpkin when I went home nearly a month ago, it was so much fun having a night like this together. We obviously messed up our carving a little bit by pushing the pumpkin out in between the ears but oh well. We baked cookies, carved Pumpkins and then roasted Pumpkin seeds. A perfect Fall evening.

Happy Halloween everyone, stay safe!

Sweeter Than Fiction: Swift Style

So, in case you don't know (which you probably do know), I'm a huge Taylor Swift fan. Her style has evolved into such a classic look, I'm obsessed with the look she's been sporting lately. The peter pan collars, polka dots, fun hats, and oxfords are all a few of my favorites. I thought I would share five looks I've pulled inspiration from.

Fall Fest 2013

For those that have been following my blog for a while, every Fall I post about the Fall Fest, one of the events I look forward to the most every year. It's a big country music festival that has "secret" tickets. Except the tickets aren't so secret anymore, you just pick up however many you want at the local gas station, Turkey Hill.
This year Lonestar was the headliner. Their music was basically part of my childhood soundtrack. I remember my parents and all of the families living on military bases listening to them all the time, so the concert in general had a nostalgic feel.
I really liked the two openers, Frankie Ballad and Joe Nichols. It was great just to be by the country side for the weekend, especially now that Fall is finally here. There's nothing like Fall in a rural area.

Greeting Autumn

Ruche has been one of my favorites for about a year or so now, I love their pretty selection of dresses and their editorials are always gorgeous and so perfect for every season they are shooting for. Although I'm no fan of chilly weather, I love dressing for it. Which, I know, doesn't make very much sense. Fall is such a wonderful season, apple picking, pumpkin flavored everything, cozy sweaters, colored tights, it's all so perfect. Ruche displays the season perfectly in all of these lovely photos, check out the full feature, Greeting Autumn, HERE.

Also, Ruche is having what they call, Frocktober where they are adding a new dress to their shop every single day of October. I've been checking back daily to see the cute new addition. Currently I'm obsessed with these three choices and I'm considering getting one to wear on Thanksgiving (it's never too early to start planning your outfit, right?)

Indian Summer

Top: Old Navy, Shorts: Urban Outfitters, Shoes: Aldo

There are soooo many pictures and updates I'm behind on, life has been crazy lately and unfortunately, it's catching up to me. I've been sick the last few days so I've been bundled up inside and I'm so upset I'm missing out on the last few days of this summer weather before fall kicks into full gear. This is an outfit I wore about a week ago, and I ended up regretting the long sleeves as soon as I was walking downtown.

I'm going home this weekend and I'm getting super excited about, it will be refreshing to be away from some of the hustle and bustle of the city just for a few days.

Mixing It Up

Top: TJMaxx, Shorts: Forever 21, Sandals: Forever 21, Necklace: Calico

I usually stray away from the idea of mixing patterns on bottom and top but I decided to try it out with this combo on a laid back day during one of my last days at home before moving back to Philadelphia. I had posted an instagram picture of me in the dressing room trying on this top and was coincidentally wearing these shorts when a few people had told me that they loved it together so I decided to give it a go. I might re-wear this sometime this week actually while the weather is still in the mid-80's.

I remember this day very clearly. My mom and I ran out to run a few errands and then Derek came over after he got off of work. It was such a simple day and there was nothing super special about it, but those are the days I'm missing the most. Don't get me wrong, living out here is wonderful and I'm fully loving every minute of it and it feels great to be living on my "own" (ahem, with a bestie roommate) but I miss my family and Derek and only having them to talk to on the phone can be hard on days where I would love to just sit and talk or even just do something as simple as watching TV with them. Anybody else currently moved back to school and going through the weird transition as well?
