Holiday Wear: Stripes and Velvet

Last weekend Derek and I partook in our yearly tradition of going to Terrain around the holidays. There's something so magical about that little garden store during the month of December. Christmas trees fill the outdoor space, twinkling lights are hanging everywhere, delicious holiday lattes are being made, fire pits are scattered around and there is just so much holiday decor everywhere. We got brunch in the Garden Cafe, I went with a mushroom omelet and a maple vanilla latte while Derek got the chili-maple glazed chicken and then we did a little shopping around the store.

A festive day at Terrain called for a festive outfit so I decided to wear something that could also work for a holiday party. I'm still loving the velvet trend and I've had these pants (similar) for a few years and I always pull them out around the holidays. One year I wore an off-the-shoulder white top and gold booties with them but this time I opted for a striped wrap bodysuit, a knotted headband and my favorite fake crocodile booties. I love how versatile each of these items are for the holidays. The knotted headband would be so cute with a holiday dress, this wrap top could also be paired with a sparkly skirt or the velvet pants would also look great with a mockneck crop top.
