Today was the official start to my senior year of college. It makes me feel slightly sick to my stomach to think about that. A part of me feels ready to be done with school and to start "real life" (whatever that really means) but then again I almost feel just as unsure about what I want to do as I did when I came to university 3 years ago. With labor day weekend right around the corner I'm already feeling nostalgic for the summer. These photos were taken back on Fourth of July when summer felt like it wasn't going to end. It was such a fun day, I spent the day at Pinchot Park with Derek and then we went home to play with sparklers with my little sister and then I baked a flag cake.
This summer I was all about mixing patterns in subtle ways. I mixed my nautically-knot (try saying that 3 times fast) printed Keds with stripes and polka dots almost weekly. I've also realized how much I stray back to classic pieces. Adding a pair of pearls, my Tiffany's necklace that Derek got me for our anniversary and my gold watch is almost a daily thing and I can't resist a pair of vintage-inspired shorts. I got these adorable shorts last Spring at Smak Parlour, a boutique in Old City owned by two best friends. You can actually check out an article I wrote on the adorable BFF's and their incredible boutique last Fall, HERE.
Beautiful comfortable yet chic outfit!

I love the shoes! You look gorgeous in outfits like these. Very Tay Swift-esque. Last year of college, oh my goodness that seems miles away from me. I can't wait!

I love those shoes! And I absolutely know what you mean about feeling conflicted about change- I'm just starting my new job (my first real career) and we are moving! It's such a bittersweet feeling
ReplyDeleteI love those shorts! I was in the city on Saturday and I stumbled upon Smak Parlour! (I didn't know they had retail stores.) I actually looked for those shorts, and they had one pair left! More money than I was looking to spend that day though :(
