2009: Our first Christmas together after dating for only 8 months. This was the first time we baked cookies together and I remember feeling so excited about cuddling on the couch while watching Rudolph, ha, to be sixteen again.
2010: This was Christmas of our senior year in high school and I remember feeling so nervous about what the next Christmas would be like since I would be coming home from college then. I shouldn't have worried about that because every Christmas ended up being pretty much the same after that, haha. Derek got me a pretty ring that year and I was so surprised, not an engagement ring though! Ha, we were only 17 years old here (we're almost 21 now and still not considering that at this time!)
2011: So many wonderful memories, exchanging presents on Christmas Eve, building a gingerbread house for the first time, my Ugly Christmas Sweater party. I think this was the Christmas I realized how truly blessed I was. (Cheesy, I know. Christmas is a cheesy time you guys.)
2012: Last year's Christmas topped every Christmas before that. I had been wanting a kitten for so long, and a fluffy orange at that and Derek actually went through with it! He came to my house with a wrapped box and I was so confused when he was so insistent about me opening it right that second (haha, don't worry he wrapped it in his car before coming in the front door!) and I could have cried. Pumpkin was brought to me and I've been so blessed. It's so special to have a kitty to call our own. Derek also got me a gorgeous jeweled heart ring (not an engagement ring!) so whenever I look down on it while we're doing our long distance thing I can smile and think about him.
I get to see Derek for the first time today in two weeks. I can't believe this is going to be our fifth Christmas together. He makes the holiday season so much more special for me. No matter where I am with him, whether it's back in York hanging out with our families or when he comes to stay with me for a weekend in Philly, I always feel at home.
All I know is I'm one lucky lady and I can't wait to create more Christmas memories with this guy.
This is so sweet <3 It's wonderful that you've been together for so long!

Something About That
Oh my gosh this is so sweet. It is so neat to see you two grow up together. This is also a great post idea. I might make one for Alec and I! I also have 2 rings from my man (not an engagement ring!) and am approaching 21. Looks like we have a lot in common, girly!
