A Casual 4th of July Look

Who else can't believe July 4th is already tomorrow!? Summer just started but I already feel like it's just flying by. I've squeezed in 1 trip so far (a bachelorette party in Savannah - so fun!) and a beach day to Asbury Park but I feel like I haven't done enough summery things yet. There's always so much going on in Philly during the summer - outdoor movie nights, flea markets, baseball games, beer gardens, farmers markets and that's not even scratching the surface. There's also a lot going on in this city for 4th of July, like free admission to a few museums, a free concert (that includes Jennifer Hudson and Meghan Trainor), fireworks by the riverfront - it's always such a celebration in, well, America's birthplace!

Derek and I typically have a low-key 4th of July around the city with a few exceptions here and there. I'm never one to stray away from a theme so I'm all for dressing a little festive for the holiday. Since we never have major plans I like to have a more laid back approach to the Americana theme. This t-shirt dress is casual, comfy and can be easily worn for the 4th. I paired it with white sneakers (my favorite trend) and a pearl barrette (another fun trend) and my favorite pair of pink sunnies. Lately I've been into contradicting pieces - like a pearl barrette that could be seen as more elevated/dressed up with casual pieces like a t-shirt dress and sneakers.
