Neutral Stripes

I hope everyone had a nice weekend! I actually ended up having the entire weekend off so I hosted a gin night at my place with a few close friends (It's like wine night, but with gin! Have you tried sage liquor before? So delicious.) I tried a new place for brunch in East Passyunk - Bing Bing Dim Sum (the potatoes are the best thing ever), went to tea at The Dandelion, went to my favorite brunch spot in NoLibs with Derek - N. 3rd, had a little photoshoot with fellow Philly style bloggers and did a little shopping. It was the perfect weekend full of food, friends and laughter and it felt like a sneak peek at what summertime has to offer!
Thursday I swear I nearly got frost-bite on my hands walking to work (of course I was holding a cup of coffee and I forgot my gloves) and then Saturday I was sweating to death in this outfit. This weather seems like it's been more off than in recent years but I'm hoping we have a little bit of warm (and stable) temperatures coming soon. This Lou & Grey dress is a perfect transitional piece because it's actually made of a sweater-like material. It works with or without tights and with any type of shoe from booties, to sandals or sneakers. I have another outfit post lined up next week to show another way to wear this piece and it may involve a pair of metallic sneakers...

Happy Monday! I was going to go on about how spring feels like it's here and that it's so nice to wear a light jacket instead of a heavy coat but turns out that only lasted a few days. Now, we're expecting one to two feet of snow tomorrow into Wednesday. So, just kidding. Welcome back, winter - hope you don't stay too long. In the meantime, I'll be looking forward to re-wearing this blazer . One of my favorite things about this piece is that it's super versatile. It can work as a refined piece or as a casual look. I thought it would be fun to add another pattern with the square scarf instead of just another statement necklace. I've been loving the bandana/square scarf trend, it's such a fun way to accessorize and it works for any season! What trend(s) are currently loving?

Powder Pink

Happy Monday everyone! Last week it felt like spring was right around the corner but after this weekend it's obvious that winter is still sticking around here in Philly. I've been over my winter wardrobe for awhile now so I've been trying to add springy pieces here and there. I switched my usual tan, black and maroon sweaters for a white sweater for a fresher feel. Also, adding warmer tones such as pink and cream will go a long way. I finally got the chance to break in these new velvet booties that I got on sale from Asos ages ago and I'm looking forward to using them as a key transitional piece from winter into spring. What are your key transitional pieces that you're looking forward to incorporating into your wardrobe?
