I'm having a hard time believing that at this time next month I'll be sitting in a classroom once again. Despite the stress, in reality, I really don't mind school all too much. Especially now that I'm getting more established into my journalism classes now. It's a good feeling knowing that I'm preparing my mind for a career path that I'm looking forward to being a part of.

I'd say that the hardest part about going back to school is the lack of, well, Derek. I've grown to appreciate summertime more than ever before these last few years because it's the one time I'm home for weeks at a time. And home is where Derek is. I love my life in Philadelphia, but when I'm home and knowing that the person I love is going to be by my side at one point during each day, well that's something that can't be compensated for when I'm away.

This summer has been so wonderful with Derek by my side. And I can't imagine going back to only seeing each other every 4-6 weeks for a few days but I know we can do this. Derek's planning on moving to Philadelphia next summer, and although nothing is guaranteed the hope of it actually happening is helping us move forward. Knowing that his love will follow me throughout my days in the city is another comfort. It feels good to know I'm truly never alone, and whenever I'm facing the unknown somebody has my back.

But summer isn't over and here's to a few more weeks by each other's side. And maybe a few more picnics by the water.
