May Roundup

May has been a crazy month for me. The first half I spent in Philadelphia finishing finals and saying good-bye to friends for the summer and now I'm in my hometown working and spending time with my family and Derek once again. June is going to be a great month, I can feel it! June is also going to be crazy while searching for an apartment in Philly while being in York but I have a good feeling about it. Do you have any big goals for June?

Weekly Recipe: Golden Oreo Truffles

This has to be one of my favorite things I've ever made and I found the recipe on my favorite recipe blog ever, Sally's Baking Addiction. If you have never checked out her site before, make sure you do so because there are hundreds of delicious recipes! These are her no-bake golden oreo truffles

I made these for my family for our memorial day cookout and everybody loved them. One of the best things about this recipe is that it only calls for four ingredients! Cream cheese, golden oreos, white chocolate baking bars and sprinkles, that's it!  They kind of have a cake-batter flavor essence to them which is perfect for summer. I loved how soft the inside of these are once you bite through the smooth white chocolate exterior.

After writing about them I'm tempted to go make them once again! But seriously, you should try it out. Check out the recipe HERE. Please. Seriously. Try it.

So I think that i have finally found a good system for posting on the blog. My plan is to do outfit posts Monday and Wednesdays, a weekly recipe on Thursdays and a fashion-related post on Fridays. Having a set idea fr weekly posting will make posting regularly a lot more easier. Do you guys post on specific days or sporadically? What works for you?

Color Combo: Blue and White

Top + Shorts: Urban Outfitters, Sunglasses: New York and Company, Shoes: Anne Klein

I've already been home for two weeks and if how fast these past two weeks have gone are any indication of how fast the summer is going to go, summer is going to be over in no time, which is a slightly terrifying thought. I've honestly been so lazy and been watching mass amounts of Sex and the City but today is the day where I start getting back into some kind of routine again. I start a new job at New York and Company today and feel so ready to work and be busy with something once again.

Anyway, onto the outfit. (Because that's what we're here to discuss, right?) I think my go-to color combination will always be blue and white. It's such a light, simple color combo against my pale skin and blonde hair and it never comes off too harsh on days where I'm just relaxing or running errands. I got these shorts and this top from a big sale that was going on at Urban Outfitters about a month ago. Each individually was only $20 which seems like such a bargain there. I'm not a fan of denim shorts (except for a few select high-waisted pairs) so these shorts will be worn with just about everything this summer. Also, I feel like I've been pairing these open toed wedges with everything as well. It just feel so good to wear summer-y clothes once again.

Little Birthday Moments

My 20th birthday was a little bit over a week ago and it was so lovely. I didn't do anything super special but I did spend my day with a few of the people who mean the most to me. Derek took me to Carlisle so we could go to my favorite creperie in the area where we got nutella crepes for breakfast and I brought home my favorite macarons. Then, that evening my dad brought flowers home for me and then my family spent the evening watching the Billboard Music Awards (Taylor Swift won 8 awards!!). We also enjoyed cheesecake, which is my favorite. It was just what I needed after being away from home for the last 2 months while I was at school.

Other Birthday Posts:
19th Birthday: 19th Birthday
18th Birthday: 18 Years Old
17th Birthday: 17 Years Old! and Summer! So I'm Back!
16th Birthday: Sweet 16

Stripes for the Holiday

Top (Dress): Target, Skirt: JcPenney, Shoes: Prabal Gurung for Target, Necklace: Vintage, Sunglasses: New York and Company

Happy Memorial Day everyone! I hope you all are enjoying some quality time with your families and friends. Yesterday I went to a cookout at my grandma's house with my family and Derek and it was great seeing everyone after being at school for so long. It ended up being a beautiful day, but a little chilly so that scratched out my sleeveless maxi that I was going to wear. Instead, I chose one of my favorite Target dresses and layered this long maxi over it. I love when dresses can become tops. Working on a small budget here!

Enjoy the holiday! xoxo
Memorial Day Weekend Outfits

Memorial Day Weekend Outfits

I love that the weekend of Memorial Day symbolizes the start of summer. I also love any excuse to get out of the house and go do something outdoors and Memorial Weekend gives me just that. I hope everybody has exciting plans, I'm just going to a cookout at my grandma's over the weekend but this unoffical start to summer has me excited for future beach and lake trips this summer. I put together four different outfit ideas for Memorial Weekend and the great thing is that many of these plans all overlap so these outfits can truly be perfect for any outdoorsy party or gathering.

Memorial Weekend: Picnic

Memorial Day: Boating

Memorial Day: Lakeside/Camp
Memorial Day: Cookout

Embroidered Waist

Sorry I've been a little MIA lately. I finished my sophomore year of college and moved out of my house in Philly for the summer so things have been a little crazy. Also, over the weekend I turned 20! It's so strange to be out of my teens, and frankly a little scary. I certainty don't feel like an adult, and kind of feel like I never really will. I can't wait to share some more details and pictures from my birthday but for now, here's what I decided to wear. I got this pretty dress from Francesca's and I'm obsessed with the lace detailing in the waist. Lately I feel like I have been obsessed with cream and white dresses. I paired this with neutrals but I'm excited to eventually pair it with colorful shoes and jewelry.
Also, Derek and I have been working on a new header/theme for the blog and I'm super excited about it. I'm hoping it will be up within the next week or two! I hope you all are having a good week so far.
