I Love You This Big

Let me first say....HAPPY VALENTINES DAY! Any of you who might sort of know me, probably know that I love any holiday that allows us to celebrate the people we love and of course, any holiday where it's perfectly acceptable to eat mass amounts of chocolate is okay in my book. This was the first time since me and Derek started dating that we had to be apart for this day, but he came over last weekend where we celebrated here in Philadelphia. We exchanged gifts Friday night, I had gotten him a small valentines balloon, plenty of candy and a picture of our first Valentines Day together, back when I had red hair! He got me chocolates, a HUGE card that I absolutely adore and the cutest flowers, and he ever wrote me a song! I love having a boyfriend who loves music. Then he took me out to dinner at this cute restaurant near Rittenhouse Square called "The Marathon". I'm really missing him today but remembering our fun weekend makes it easier. Hope you all are having a Valentines Day that's filled with love, whether it's from a friend, boyfriend, spouse, or family member!

PS: Being in a long distance relationship has made me appreciate Derek so much more. I am so thankful for him to be in my life and to stand by me and my decision to leave our hometown for the city. He supports me no matter what and I couldn't ask for anybody better. <3

Grammy's 2012

Adele in Armani
Katy Perry in Elie Saab
Taylor Swift in Zuhair Murad
Carrie Underwood in Gomez-Garcia
Julianne Hough in Kaufman Franco
Miranda Lambert in Pavoni
Kimberly Perry in Moschino
Country stars stormed the red carpet at this years Grammy's and they each looked fabulous. Between Taylor, Carrie, Miranda, Julianne Hough and Kimberly Perry, they made up my favorites of the night. I also loved Katy Perry's long but simpler-than-usual gown and Adele's black dress with red lipstick look. Also, I loved Taylor Swift's pre-grammy dress and I was so happy when she won for "Best Country Song" and "Best Country Solo Performance". My favorite performance of the night was Taylor Swift's "Mean" performance, supposedly directed towards Bob Lefsetz who criticized her 2010 grammy performance. I also loved Katy Perry's performance who was obviously about her, well, I think we all can guess who. What was your favorite performance of the night? And who's outfit did you love the most?

Grey Days

Coat: Old Navy, T-Shirt: Xhileration, Jeans: GAP, Oxfords: Xhileration, Hat: New York and Company
You know how fashion bloggers will be like "Oh, it's a casual day so I'm just wearing my Yves Saint Laurent t-shirt with a pair of vintage cut-offs and my Gucci sandals. And maybe even my Ralph Lauren watch." Well. Let me just say that is not me. Not only do I not own anything Yves Saint Laurent or Gucci (or Ralph Lauren for that matter), but anything that is more than $50 should not be worn on a casual day where you're most likely going to be hanging out with your cat all day. When I go casual, I go 100% casual with a pair of skinny jeans, a long sleeved T-shirt from Target and a pair of comfy flats, I'll also throw a beanie over my "maybe I washed it, maybe I didn't" hair. The whole point of this post? To admit that sometimes I love wearing casual clothes, and that (maybe) I love days where I'm at home and the only thing left to do is watch a movie with my cat. But seriously. That beats all of this homework that I'm stuck doing.

Flashback: January 2011

-Derek and I celebrated New Years Eve for the first time together
-I spent the first few days of 2011 with friends and then it hit us we were actually going to graduate this year.
-I got accepted into Duquesne, Queens University of Charlotte, York College, West Chester and Temple University and started realizing I was going to be without my best friends after the summer.
-We got a kitten and named him Sharkey.
-I started embracing the sweater and sweatshirt look.
-Sharkey and our german shepherd, Scout, became best friends.
-We had our fair share of beautiful snow days.
-Derek and I continued to be ourselves.
-I went bowling with my family and had a great time.
-I bought Derek and I matching plaid shirts.
-I had my first "green monster" and loved it.
-Scout and Sharkey continued to be best friends.
-We had a snow day, so my sister and I built a snowman and played with Scout in the snow for the entire day. Probably one of the best days I ever had.
-I embraced the Gossip Girl look as well as the Rachel Berry look.

Since I never did a "year in review: post for 2011, like I did for 2010 (here and here), at the end of each month I'm going to post about what happened a year ago. It's crazy how much has changed in only a short year. It's hard to believe a year ago I was only half way through my senior year!
