Um, hello, August!? This summer truly seems to be slipping away. It always goes by way too quickly, but I guess that's what makes summer so sweet. And while it might be time to start thinking about fall fashion, I'm not saying to pack away your summer wardrobe quite yet. Summer is still here until September 22nd, and even then we all know the heat is going to stick around until October, at least it will in Philadelphia. I'll still be getting plenty of use out of my favorite sundresses and strappy sandals and I hope you will too! But I do want to start thinking about how to incorporate little hints of fall into my style, only because fall is my favorite time of year and I'm genuinely so excited about it.
There are a few ways to tie in a few fall classics into a summer wardrobe, like, swapping out your straw bag for a suede one, or wearing a leopard-print top with black linen shorts, you could also swap your sandals for boots with your favorite dress, or, my personal favorite, add a pop of red. To be honest, I do this all year anyway, but something about it in August and September feels like a nod towards autumn's fast approach.
You can add a pop of red in a lot of different ways. One of my favorite ways to add a pop of red is with my footwear - a red pair of western boots or ballet pumps are a fun addition to your wardrobe. You could also go the accessory route, like a pair of socks, a cherry red purse or a burgundy bow for your hair. Adding it via a pop of lipstick is also an option! My favorite? The Nars lip pencil in Cruella.
