Happy Holidays! I hope everyone is enjoying their holiday season. Yesterday we celebrated Christmas and it was such a lovely day. Derek and I exchanged gifts in the morning before we went to our hometown, York, to see our families. The holidays can be so tricky when it comes to trying to see everyone but the fact that Derek and I are from the same town makes it so much easier most of the time. Derek got me a lovely Tom Ford perfume in Santal Blush and I'm so excited to use it. I got him some new clothes, a new video game and a cozy blanket from Anthro. But of course, the best part about the holidays is just getting to spend a little extra time with each other!
For Christmas this year I kept it fairly casual with a cozy turtleneck and a sparkly skirt. I wore this skirt for NYE last year and it's one of my favorites! Since I haven't gotten to wear it too much I thought Christmas day would be the perfect opportunity to pull it out of my closet again. I used to get so dressed up for the holidays but now I'm starting to value comfort and warmth (haha) so much more but 19 year old me was all about wearing a sleeveless dress and high heels on a winter day. This velvet headband was a fun way to dress up this look a little more. I try not to fall down the rabbit hole of trends, I tend to admire them from afar so when it comes to incorporating them into my own wardrobe I tend to stick with accessories. Headbands have been making a major comeback and although I felt a little bit like a 90's TV show character, I have to say I am kind of loving this trend. Lastly, I added 2 other classic accessories - my favorite gold hoop earrings and a vintage clutch. Do you get dressed up for the holidays or keep it casual?
