Last month Derek and I planned a day trip to Dumbo, Brooklyn. Our last few day trips to NYC have mostly been spent in Manhattan so it was nice to spend an afternoon in my other favorite borough. We spent the morning getting brunch in Soho at Jack's Wife Freda and then made the walk over the Brooklyn Bridge (my first time to walk across the bridge!) into the neighborhood of Dumbo. It ended up being a rainy and chilly summer day but there was still so much going on. We spent well over an hour at the Brooklyn Flea Market, looking through vintage clothes and dusty records. We stopped for coffee at Brooklyn Roasting Company before taking a stroll around the neighborhood and spending some time by the water before it started to downpour. While it rained we peeked in all of the adorable shops located along the cobble-stoned streets including The Powerhouse Arena.
