There are a few movies that immediately come to mind when I think about fall and winter style inspo - those movies are When Harry Met Sally (1989), Annie Hall (1977), and Love Story (1970). A heartbreaking story of love, loss, and the stubbornness of youth - Love Story (and its fashion) still holds up today. Taking place in Boston, this movie essentially defined Ivy League style with its trench coats, plaid scarves, a-line skirts, turtlenecks, blazers, and even a pair of cherry red tights (a trend that's resurfaced this past season). The costume designers, Pearl Somner and Alice Manougian Martin created a world of classic and timeless style, that is still relevant and inspiring today, more than 50 years later. Jenny Cavilleri, played by Ali Macgraw, will always hold my dream winter wardrobe.
