For years I resisted the standard office staple - the blazer. It felt too stuffy and formal, even among the trousers or slightly professional dress I would wear occasionally. After years of dreading the idea of buying one, I finally realized it could be a good wardrobe staple. So, I finally invested in my first blazer two or three years ago, this plaid one, and since then I've been hooked on the blazer trend. It truly is such a versatile piece. I bought this wool green blazer last fall during a Madewell sale and I've loved pairing it with different pieces - dresses, skirts, jeans - it goes with everything!
For the weekend I like to keep it casual with denim and a tote bag. I'll usually keep my outfit slightly dressed up with a pair of loafers or oxfords but if you wanted to go a more causal route, a pair of white sneakers and a leather backpack would look stylish as well! This look has become a bit of a uniform for me on the weekends lately! Now that it's colder out I'll usually throw on an oversized coat and a scarf and I'm good to go. How would you style a blazer for the weekend?
