Massive sculptures, rolling hills, trees in fiery hues, crisp air - an October day at the Storm King Art Center was absolutely perfect. Derek and I took the nearly three hour drive from Philadelphia to spend an afternoon at the art center about two weeks ago. It was such a beautiful fall day and I'm really happy we decided to go in October versus over the summer like we were originally planning. We had no idea where to start when we got there and although we started with the map we decided to forgo it the rest of the afternoon. We gave ourselves about three hours there and although we got to see the majority of the park I suggest giving yourself at least four hours. The site is made up of over 500 acres, which includes woodlands and meadows to explore. There are more than 100 sculptures and some of them are hidden in little valleys among the hills and a few of them are  tucked in the woods. It was such a fun afternoon trying to find the sculptures we wanted to see the most and taking in the incredibly scenic view. It hasn't felt much like fall and it certainly barely looks like fall in Philadelphia so this fall day in New York state was incredibly appreciated.
