Oscar's 2016: Top 12 Looks

Admittedly, I missed the Oscar's last night but I've been catching up on all of the news and red carpet looks this morning. I'm so happy that Leo (FINALLY!) won an Oscar and that Brie Larson won Best Actress for Room. There were so many stunning looks last night. I've rounded up my top 12 favorites, including Naomi Watts who looked like a mermaid (in a good way, if that makes any sense) and Rachel McAdams who looked absolutely stunning in emerald green. What were your favorite looks last night?

Berry Favorite

This was one of those days where I was so desperate for it to feel like spring, that I kind of just dressed up for it even though I was absolutely freezing. This berry colored dress is one of my favorites that I picked up from Ruche ages ago. It's good for any season and works well with or without tights, even those it's a tad bit short. This outfit was the perfect ensemble for a date-day with Derek. We had ventured out to Fairmount to go to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and then to the Belgian Cafe for beers and appetizers. I can't wait for real spring days where we can trek around the city without extra layers and can sit outside at our favorite cafes and restaurants once again.

Valentine's Day In NYC

I hope everybody had a beautiful Valentine's Day yesterday and got to spend it with someone that they love, whether it was your spouse/boyfriend/girlfriend, family or friends. The weekend flew by way too quickly, as most weekends do. Saturday Derek and I exchanged gifts since we would be spending the following day in NYC. Along with the tickets to NYC, he picked me up a pretty bouquet of red roses and assorted chocolates. And I may or may not have already consumed that entire box of chocolate...I got Derek a print made with three photos of us in the three countries we travelled to together last year. I also picked him up a candle, chocolate and two tickets for the Philadelphia zoo. When I got home from breakfast with my friends, he had also pulled up the movie Valentine's Day for us to watch. We went to see that movie on Valentine's Day in the theater 5 years ago so it was a sweet surprise.
Sunday, we headed to NYC (after snacking on some sugar cookies from Carlos Bakery for a pre-breakfast snack) and Derek treated us to brunch at the Australian restaurant Burke and Wills on the Upper West Side. I got one of my favorite breakfast choices, the lox Benedict with a mimosa and it was delicious. They also come around with different pastries while you're waiting for your food to arrive. There's an awesome skylight too. so you can see the city above you while you're dining.  Afterwards we spent a few hours at the American Museum of Natural History. I've never been there before and didn't realize how massive it was going to be! We only made it through the first floor and plan on going back one day to check out the second floor. After leaving the museum we ventured into Central Park for a few minutes before getting too cold. It was a high of about 15 degrees, with a wind chill of -11 so it wasn't the best day to aimlessly walk around, but we tried! Lastly, we enjoyed dessert at Jacques Torres, warming up with hot chocolate and chocolate chip cookies.
