Oh, New York. I've been to so many beautiful cities in the last year and I still think New York has to be my favorite. Although it's a close tie between NYC and London. One of the benefits of living in Philadelphia is how close we are to New York! It's only a 2-hour bus ride that you can get for $10 round-trip if you buy your tickets early enough! Derek hasn't been to NYC for years and we have never gone together and Saturday was the perfect day to spend there.

It ended up being a super relaxing day, we didn't really make any plans other than brunch at Sarabeth's that we made a reservation for. After getting off the bus we took the subway to TriBeCa and enjoyed an incredible brunch. Derek got chicken and waffles (with a super generous serving!) and I opted for pumpkin waffles with pear and pomegrante. I always have a weakness for sweet brunch.

Afterwards, we walked to Soho and made our way to Washington Square Park (possibly to burn off some of that massive brunch). And then took the subway to the Upper West Side and went to Central Park. I was in NYC earlier this month with a few friends for the day and it wasn't anything like it was this weekend. The trees were stunning and it felt 100% like a fall day. Afterwards, we stopped in Laduree where I got a few macarons (Marie Antoinette {a sort of earl-grey flavor}, Rose Petal, Caramel with Salted Butter and Coffee were my choices) and marveled at how pretty everything was. The last time I was in a Laduree was in Paris this past April.

The rest of our trip consisted of a trip to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which I had never been to. It was MASSIVE. We only got to check out one side of the museum but there was so much to look at we were there for more than two hours. Lastly, we went to grab pizza for dinner where we ended up getting a 14' pizza just for ourselves. We both managed to eat three slices, leaving two behind. Overall, it was such a fun trip and I'm already looking forward to my next visit!
