Sweater: Old Navy, Skirt: Express, Shoes: Chelsea Crew (via Modcloth), Watch: Michael Kors, Sunglasses: Steve Madden
My favorite color combination might forever be red, white and navy. There's something about it that just screams americana. Throw in some anchor prints and a full skirt and the look becomes instantly classic. Perhaps I've just been re-watching too many episodes of Mad Men lately. I'm a sucker for anything that has a 1950's - 1960's edge to it so I'll always reach for the full, midi-length skirts.
I wore this outfit on one of mine and Derek's first dates since I got back to America and it was perfect for a spring evening. The sweater kept me from getting too chilly and the skirt felt picnic-worthy. To pull together the look I just went with my classic gold watch, pearl earrings and rounded sunglasses. When I'm going out on dates with Derek I tend to stick with classics instead of going with trendier looks - which I never realized I did until recently.
Do you have a go-to style for dates? What are your favorite classic pieces?
Ahh this vintage inspired look is making me smile so much. I absolutely love it! Anything retro makes me happy.

I'm with you on the 50's & 60's styles! They will always have a big place in my heart. It seems like we have a very similar sense of style. ;) I am such a sucker for red, white and navy too. Gorgeous pictures and I am so happy you are back to blogging again! :)

I can't tell you how much I love this look! The red midi skirt is a dream. I've always wanted one, especially a balloon type one. It's so feminine and regal at the same time. :)
