Ringing in the New Year

Top: Old Navy, Skirt: JCP, Heels: JCP, Pearls: Vintage
Is there no other way to ring in the new year other than in a tulle skirt? That's exactly what I'm wearing tonight! I hope you all are enjoying your new years eve with the people you love. I'm hanging around the house with my family and Derek, eating plenty of food and watching "Rockin Eve '13". A tradition in this household. 2012 was such a wonderful year. I can't wait to see what 2013 holds!

Holiday Lace

Dress: Dainty Mind if I Do Dress, Heels: Charlotte Russe, Pearls: Vintage, Nailpolish: Good as Gold by Essie
Every holiday, I always look forward to the opportunity to dress up. This dress is my first purchase from Modcloth and I'm absolutely in love with it! I've already tried it on with more casual things and look forward to wearing it out more often. The fabric has a hint of shine to it, which was perfect for Christmas. I paired it with a pair of pearls after watching too much Gossip Girl the day before but I love how the look paired together.

Kittens and Cookies

Living away from home, I appreciate the holidays more than ever now. Christmas Eve day was the day we celebrated Christmas with my family since my mom had to work from 7 to 7 on Christmas day and I'm so excited to show you what I wore that day in tomorrow's outfit post! Christmas Eve night after everybody left, I slipped into my new favorite sweater and made cookies with Derek, our Christmas Eve tradition. Christmas Day, Derek wore the new plaid top I got him and we went to his house for the day! We didn't take many pictures that day but I did sneak in a few of Derek and Pumpkin snuggling at my house that night after a long few days.

Also, my parents got me one of the best presents I could have asked for. After using my NikonD40 since middle school, they got me the brand new NikonD3200 and I'm in love with it! The pictures are so clear and I love how fast this camera is!

How did you spend your holidays?

Meet Pumkin

I hope everybody had a wonderful Christmas! I can't wait to see everyone's post about their holiday celebrations and I can't wait to post more pictures here but for today I want you all to meet the best Christmas present I have ever gotten. Derek got me the sweetest, cutest little kitten and I named her pumpkin! I'll be able to take her back to my house in Philly at the end of the month and I'm so excited to have her with me. Right now she's staying in my room at my home in my parents house and she's just so perfect.

Gingerbread Trains

Sorry I've been so distant from the blog lately, I have been spending some much needed time with my loved ones after the long semester I had at school. Once the new year rolls around I will have plenty more outfit posts for you, but for the rest of the year be prepared for personal posts. Like this gingerbread filled one! Last year, Derek and I made our first gingerbread house together and this year, we tried our hand at a gingerbread train. After messing up in the beginning, it didn't turn out that bad, at least to us. Ha.
