Staying Cozy

11.30.2012

Sweater: Gift from mom, Jeans: PacSun, Boots: Gift from Mom, Necklace: Vintage

Living in the city, I now see the importance of thick sweaters and a good pair of boots. At home, when you get to place to place in a car, dressing warm isn't usually that important but here in Philly with all of the walking around, it's important to find pieces that are going to be stylish but warm. I actually got this sweater from my mom for Christmas two years ago and I seem to be wearing it more than ever.

Are there any practical style realizations you've come to terms with the last few years?

3 Year Blog-Aversary

11.28.2012

How have I had this blog for 3 years!? It's hard to believe all of this started back in 2009 with this post. It's been great to be able to look back at different life moments through this blog, especially with me growing up since I started this when I was 16. One of the biggest reasons why I started blogging was so I could document my style and find inspiration through other blogs. It's been so fun to see how my style has changed through the years.

November '09-November '10:
Within this year I went strictly to the sales racks. Don't get me wrong, I'm still all about discounts but I wouldn't even look at anything else and in a way I think this limited my wardrobe to mostly basic pieces. I wore high heels, especially from Wet Seal, all of the time with skinny jeans and dresses. I was usually more into laid back pieces during this time.

November '10-November '11:
I remember at the beginning of this year being so inspired by some of my favorite tv shows and celebrities. I was always looking for outfits that reminded me of Rachel from Glee, Gossip Girl, Kate Vogele and Taylor Swift. Half way through the year is when I started to find my own personal style and realized how I loved dressing girly but with a vintage twist.

November '11-November '12:
This last year is when I think Ive grown into my style more than ever. I realized there aren't any rules in fashion and I wore whatever I wanted without too much thought. So, I bought some heart printed wool shorts, leather shorts and even some red pants. Moving to Philadelphia, my style started to become more edgy along with the city but by the end of this year I think I found my girly-vintage self again.

Thank you all for following me! It's hard to believe I have 700 followers who read this blog, your comments mean so much to me and I hope you all continue to follow along! <3 p="p">

Autumn Tales

11.27.2012

Dress: Ruche, Necklace: Vintage (once my great-grandmothers), Tights: Hue, Booties: Target

Remember when I brought up my new obsession with Ruche a few weeks ago? Well I ordered this dress to wear for Thanksgiving and it proved to be the perfect Autumn dress. This color-blocked dress paired with sparkly tights, a vintage necklace, loose curls and a pair of high-heeled booties, I felt this to be the perfect mix between modern and vintage inspired. It's hard to see all of the once, green and yellow trees and plants turning dull and leaf-less. I guess that's winter welcoming us, why does it seem like Autumn always goes by too quickly?

L'ecole des Femmes

After seeing this post on "The Clothes Horse" I knew I had to check out the full set of photographs shot by David Shama for the F/W 2012 for L'ecole des Femmes. The entire set was absolutely flawless, I found so much inspiration for my winter wardrobe in these photographs.

I hope everybody had a great Holiday! Thanksgiving is such a great time to kick off the holiday season and spend plenty of time with our loved ones. I spent the day with my parents, siblings, great grandparents and great grandmother. It was a perfect family gathering, we all sat around and had great food and talked for hours. How did you celebrate?
