Sweet Spot

It's my first week of classes and lately life has been feeling so disorganized. But I guess that's the normal way to feel being a sophomore in college, especially when I'm just starting classes pertaining to my major that I chose last minute last semester. Despite all of this constant business I love the stable relationships I have built with my parents, Derek and my friends here in Philly. My parents came to visit me last weekend for the day and it was nice seeing my mom, finally healthy once again after her terrible ordeal of gallstones and Pancreatitis. We visited the "Northern Liberties" section of Philly and found the cutest coffee shop called "The Sweet Spot" where I went a little red velvet crazy and got a red velvet latte as well as a red velvet cupcake. If you ever have the opportunity to get a red velvet latte, do it. So yummy!

Only one week and two days in Philly and I can already feel homesickness. I guess that's what happens when your hometown is the complete opposite of where you end up at. I miss going for bike rides with Derek all around the back roads by our homes, and feeling safe all the time. So, right now I'm sitting downstairs in the new house, sipping coffee, listening to country music and blogging, just like mornings at home. I probably won't see Derek until the end of September or the beginning of October, in the meantime we'll be chatting on the phone and Skyping. Only about 3 more years of long distance to go.

Home Sweet "Home"

So maybe it doesn't feel quite like home yet, but it does feel right. Actually moving myself to Philly a week ago was a decision I decided to come up with last Spring. It was definitely a decision that I knew would be hard to go through with but I knew I had to. It's time to start my life and stay in the city. So, me and a few friends rented out an actual house for the year. I'm so excited to make this place our home. Here's a few shots of my bedroom, the kitchen and our basement.

Moving on

Well, it looks like my summer in York is becoming a memory. I'm finally in my new house in Philly living with three of my friends. I am absolutely in love with the new house, other than it being in a fairly sketchy area, it's absolutely perfect for us four. I'll be posting pictures this week, I can't wait for you all to see it. It feels so right being back in the city of Philadelphia again. I was gone for more than three months and it feels like I never left.

Here was one of my often "go to" outfits for the summer. There's something so perfect about a pair of high waisted shorts. They pair almost perfectly with any type of tank for the summer and I love them with this knotted, collared top. Red lips are an easy "accessory" that stays out of the way and doesn't add any extra bulk on super hot days.
