Macklin's Cupcakes

Of course. After I move away from York and go to Philadelphia, two new cupcake bakeries and frozen yogurt places were put here. Two things that were never around the entire 7 years I lived in York. Oh well, at least that will mean that there will be some fun places to get dessert whenever I'm home visiting, which will probably be a lot. My mom and I checked out "Macklin's Cupcakes" first and it was delicious! I enjoyed the chocolate peanut butter cupcake while she got one of the specials, a key lime pie cupcake.

Are there any places you like to enjoy for dessert or a sweet snack around your home?

  5. Looks great! And your mom looks SO young! We have several amazing local icecream shops around. My favorite is Izzy's. They do a mini "izzy" scoop on top of any scoop you get. My favorite: chocolate cheesecake with a strawberry cheesecake izzy scoop :)

  7. Haha, that sounds eXACTLY like what my mom and I would order--she'd totally get key lime, and I'd be like you and go for the peanut butter! Those look super delicious. I'm glad you discovered two new cupcake places.

There's one bakery by us that has really delicious cupcakes (the icing is to diieee for!) and peanut butter balls. <3 Me and my mom like to eat lunch there sometimes, too. It just tastes so fresh and delicious all the time!

  8. I love how cupcake places are so trendy these days. As for me, I'm vegan so I get excited about any new vegan shops that pop up. Not so many in my hometown in PA, but in Seattle we have a fair amount!

  10. This happened to me when I moved from my hometown, but it was scrapbook stores lol. They even opened one right down the street!

There is a really great cupcake place an hour from here in Topeka. As for in town, there is Baskin Robbins and Freddies. 20 minutes away is a Fro-Yo place.

  13. Oh my stars, those cupcakes looks delish...and you need to send me one to try ;) We don't have any good cupcake places close by, but there is a SUPER tasty Scandanavian bakery with incredible tortes and pastries within miles of my house. Plus we have a downtown cafe with literally the state's best cheesecakes and cakes. I'm a dessert girl, if you can't tell :)
