Top: Consensus Collection H&M, Trousers: H&M, Heels: Charlotte Russe, Purse: Pac Sun, Sunglasses: Steve Madden, Belt: Target
Each summer I feel like there's a shift in my wardrobe that I'm never expecting. I guess as I'm getting older, I'm moving away from the constant sundress and cowboy boots phase that I held on to so strongly over the years before this. Part of me is sad that such an important staple to me is disappearing but I'm also excited over the fact that as I mature, so can my style. Of course, I'm going to continue to throw in sundresses and cowboy boots this summer, since it is the last summer of me being in my "teens", I'm not quite ready to let go fully.
This outfit would have definitely been outside my comfort zone only a year ago, but I'm proud to say that I felt like myself in this. I'm not sure if it's just the fact that I got older or the fact that I moved to a city. Of course, being in a small town for the summer, I overheard an older lady whisper "what the hell is she wearing" but I shook it off and only took it as a reassurance that moving into this house and making a permanent stay in Philly after this summer is the right move for me.
This top is part of the "Consensus Collection" at H&M and I am absolutely obsessed with that new line. I purchased a few other pieces from that collection that I can't wait for you all to see!
I love this outfit! So cute and stylish. You look like Michelle Williams in the black and white photo!
ReplyDeletelove those cateye sunglasses! and those pants are adorable
ReplyDeletesuch a fun outfit! super blog, let's follow each other! xx
ReplyDeleteAwww, I feel the same way about my own style! I think it's awesome though that you're willing to try new things--it's fun when you get out of your comfort zone and find something new that you like. You look great in these pants!~ the color is just such a pretty salmon. <3 And that owl detail on your belt is precious.
ReplyDeleteThat belt is the cutest thing I've ever seen. And the whole outfit is polished and grown up but still fun with the pops of red. I love it.

That lady has no idea what she's talking about! This outfit is absolutely gorgeous in every way, I can definitely see it on Pinterest! I know exactly what youre talking about with wardrobe transitions though, I definitely agree!

this is a more mature look, i suppose - though i see nothing wrong with sundresses and cowboy boots given the correct occasion! ;) you look darling and those heels are killer!

It's always a good thing to evolve. I love the peach trousers with the belt. -xo
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing how style evolves over time. I know that my style is waaaaaaaaaaaaay different now than it was when I was 19. This outfit is very mature and pretty. I love the pretty peach trousers. And your heels are very grown up as well. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAwwww I'll miss sundresses and cowboy boots. But you look lovely as well in grown up clothes.

ReplyDeletewow. i love how you use orange, white, and brown altogether. i am a fan of orange. ^_^
ReplyDeleteLove this outfit!
ReplyDeleteWe all have those moments of growing up wardrobe edition. I'm 26 and it still hits me every now and again.
I have some shirts that scream "MOM" and some that would make you think I was 21.
Also, I love the blog look. I'm not sure when you changed it, but I love it.
You look very cute in this, but you know what? You don't have to give up cowboy boots and sundresses. Clothing doesn't have an age... I mean, outside of toddler clothes. ;) And 70 year olds in halters... (Yes, I've seen 'em.) I wear jeans and graphic t-shirts all the time and I am hoping to one day have a bit of a lolita collection. I also love playing with Japanese style, which is all very cutesy. Wear what you want, not what people expect you to wear or what you think is age appropriate. Whether that's an outfit like this, or the cowboy boots and sundresses.
ReplyDeleteLove it! Great colour! Thank you for commenting and visiting my blog! Like yours too! How about following each other? I already started following you on gfc! Let me know once you follow me on bloglovin too, that way I’ll follow you back there as well!

Suuuper cute, lady! Love the top & I'm a sucker for anything peach/coral these days. Love those shoes too! Isn't Charlotte Russe the BEST when it comes to cheap heels?!
ReplyDeleteThe comment by the woman made me thing of Kendi - wasn't a snarky comment from someone in her small town always her clue that she was doing something RIGHT in the fashion world? Just sayin! :o)

For one, I love this outfit!
ReplyDeleteAnd I know exactly what you mean with the shift of style between small towns and cities (actually, I used to live in Philly too! We just moved back to south Jersey this winter). My style has definitely shifted since making the permanent move back to Jersey, but in a way I totally love! Surroundings have a huge affect on humans, I think!
