Velvet Jumpsuit

12.28.2017

I know. I know. You guys are probably sick of the velvet posts. But I can't get enough! This velvet jumpsuit was my New Years Eve choice last year but I've continued to get wear out of it this year during all of the holiday celebrations. This year for NYE I have a little metallic number I'm excited about but you can't go wrong with velvet either! What do you plan on wearing for New Year's Eve? Do you get dressed up or stay cozy?

Merry Christmas, everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful holiday! Derek and I are headed to our hometown to celebrate with our families. My look is much more casual than this today but I couldn't resist sharing pictures of my favorite holiday dress from Anthropologie! I actually wore this for Christmas last year but it's been my go-to for holiday parties. Happy Holidays, everyone!

Holiday Traditions: Terrain at Styers

Looking for the perfect festive plans this weekend? If you're in the Philadelphia area head to the Terrain at Styers! The garden and home store is owned by Urban and it is currently all decked out for the holidays. The outdoor area is filled with Christmas trees, festive decor and twinkling lights. Grab a latte from the cafe (after brunch, of course!) and sit by one of the many fires to stay warm while exploring the outdoor store. There's also an indoor store filled with all of the perfect gifts for everyone on your Christmas list. My favorites are the quirky ornaments, the books on female empowerment and all of the fun packaged snacks!

What does one wear when you're heading somewhere ridiculously enchanting? I decided on this star-printed sweater from Madewell - which I can't get enough of! I paired it with my favorite Anthro jeans that I bought last winter. Jeans with fun details are still everywhere (thank God) and I think my next pick is going to be a pair of straight leg jeans with a tuxedo stripe - possibly like this pair. I could live in patterned sweaters and fun jeans all winter long! What is your go-to winter outfit? As you can tell from this 2015 trip and 2016 trip to the Terrain, sweaters are always my go to for this holiday tradition!

8 Holiday Dresses Under $100

12.21.2017

Holiday dresses are always so fun! Shades of red, lace, sparkles, fit n flare - these are all things that I absolutely love! This Christmas is going to be a little bit more low-key but I've still been keeping my eye on a few of my favorite dresses online! Whether you're looking to get really dressed up or planning on keeping it casual, here are 8 dresses under $100 that could work from Christmas with the fam to New Years Eve!
The Cherry Red Dress | What could be a more festive color than bright red? A pop of color will always make you stand out among everyone else! How trendy is this off the shoulder dress?

The Plaid Dress | Plaid is my favorite pattern and one of my go-to's for the holiday! Plaids in shades of red and green are my personal favorites. I love this sleeveless red plaid dress!

The Classic Fit n Flare Dress | An a-line or fit n flare dress is always a fun option! Full skirts add a fun (and retro) twist on dresses and this green one works for the holidays and beyond.

The Metallic Dress | I always reach for the shiny/glittery options! Metallics are a great alternative to glitter (less mess!). I love this silver metallic dress, plus the keyhole detail is fun too!

The Lace Dress | A holiday classic! Lace works for Christmas or New Year's Eve since there are so many options in terms of dress style and color. This J.O.A lace dress would be the perfect NYE dress.

The Maroon Dress | For those who want to wear red but maybe bright colors aren't your thing - maroon is the next best thing! This suede option from Revolve would be cute with or without layers.

The Sweater Dress | Sweater dresses are both cozy and cute! This winter white dress from BB Dakota would be really versatile. Keep things simple with a pair of flats or dress it up with a pair of heels.

The Velvet Dress | Velvet has been everywhere! Make things a little dressy (and sexy) with a velvet slip dress like this hunter green one from Free People.

Velvet and Metallic

12.18.2017

Man oh man, have I been on the run the last two weeks. It's been holiday party after holiday party and I have been sprinting from one place to another. I always love the holiday rush and I feel sad that it's going to be over shortly, although it will be nice to relax a bit (and to get back to saving). In the meantime, I'm going to continue to enjoy the season while it lasts and squeeze in a few more holiday events. These velvet pants from Smak Parlour are my go-to right now because they're comfy, practical and festive! As you could tell from my last holiday outfit post - I'm a sucker for velvet right now! Plus, I love adding in a bit of metallics to the look with my shoes and bag to create a fun party look. What trends are you embracing this holiday season?

7 Holiday Sweaters Under $100

12.12.2017

Sometimes you just don't feel like wearing a holiday dress to the party that you're heading to. Another option? A festive sweater. From trendy sweatshirts to oversized sweaters - anybody can work a little bit of comfort into their holiday look. Plus, you can always dress up your look with a pair of holiday heels (or not). Here are a few of my favorite holiday sweaters under $100.
The Star Printed Sweater | Stars have been everywhere! I just picked up this Madewell star printed sweater last weekend I'm excited to work it into my holiday wardrobe. I may just have to wear it to the Terrain this weekend.

The Red Sweater | I love a pop of red! What could be more festive? A bright red sweater would be perfect with denim and sneakers or booties, especially this cropped turtleneck from BB Dakota.

The Off the Shoulder Sweater | I know - I've been going on about off the shoulder tops for awhile but I can't get enough! It's such a fun and sexy (but in a subtle way) trend. I love this mix of classic and trendy by J.O.A.

The Nordic Sweater | Nordic sweaters are so fun! A fun nordic-inspired pattern plus a fun color equals holiday perfection. Which is why I'm obsessing over this yellow sweater from LOFT. I may have ordered it for a Scandinavian-themed party that I'm going to this weekend.
The Bell Sleeved Sweater | Winter white in the trendiest way. This J.O.A bell sleeve sweater would go with nearly anything. And it would be so fun with a pair of metallic trousers or a festive skirt for the holidays.

The Sparkly Sweater | Looking for sparkles that you can that transition into your winter wardrobe after the holidays? This Marks and Spencers sweater can work for your office holiday party or for the weekend!

The Reindeer Sweater | The cutest sweater! This reindeer sweater would be my go-to for a Christmas sweater party. Who says you have to wear an ugly sweater? LOFT always has seasonal picks.

Holiday Traditions: Christmas Village

12.11.2017

Every year since I moved to Philadelphia in 2011 I've been going back to Christmas Village by City Hall. Derek moved to Philly in 2015 and since then we've made it a tradition to go together. There are a few things we get every time we go such as the mulled wine (my favorite ever since I tried it in Hungary!) and Belgian waffles - yum! There are so many different stands, various businesses and artists sell their merchandise in the European-inspired market. I always find the most unique gifts for family members and friends here each year! One of the best parts is that it's not just a market but there's an entire winter wonderland set up around City Hall. There's an ice skating rink, a winter garden and hot chocolate bar. You can even buy your Christmas Tree here!
