Oxford, England looks like it came right out of a fairytale. As soon as we got off the bus and walked a few blocks I was in awe over the architecture and the town itself. I had never seen anything, well, quite frankly, so old yet. I had only been in London for a few weeks before we took a day trip to Oxford and hadn't gone past the first few block around my flat in South Kensington at the time. The campus of Oxford University was so beautiful and it was hard to believe that I was walking on the same grounds that T S Eliot and Oscar Wilde walked on.
For lunch we had gone to Turf Tavern which sat on a cute cobbled lane and had a menu with variety. I went with mac n cheese topped with pulled pork. Yeah, maybe not much of an English meal but it was delicious. Plus I also had a cider! That counts, right? We went into the Divinity School that was the set for a hospital in one of the early Harry Potter movies but it turns out that various scenes have been shot in Oxford! We walked through the winding, narrow streets and it felt almost like you were being transported back in time. We only spent the morning and afternoon in Oxford but now I wish I had spent more time in this quintessential English college town.
Gorgeous photos!
