2015: Top 12 Outfits

2015 has really flown by. I started posting more regularly here the second half of the year and it's been fun documenting my personal style development along the way. Below are my top 12 favorite looks from the year -  12. Feeling Skorty
I love wearing classics, but I also love trying quirky pieces and new trends for fun. This adorable fruit-printed skort was a fun piece to wear this past spring in Spain and a unique piece to sport around this summer.

An anchor print sweater, a full red skirt, sandals and curled hair - I was feeling very "americana' after my 4 months in Europe. Maybe not the most practical for a picnic at the lake, but it felt great to dress up for a date.

Another classic look - I picked out this outfit after a day of watching nothing but Audrey Hepburn films. I can't resist t-strap heels and a pretty dress sometimes. Plus, the bird print is such a fun addition.

This year in particular I've been having a slight addiction to rompers and jumpsuit. They are both so practical and easy to accessorize! I wore this during that awkward "indian summer" time where you don't really know whether it's summer or fall.

8. Fall Colors - All Wrapped Up
I love fall colors. I love fall. I love stripes. I love OTK boots. Therefore, this was one of my favorite outfits of the year. This wrap skirt is super versatile with all of the colors that are included.

Gingham is one of my favorite patterns! I was taking a few queues from T. Swift with the porkpie hat and platform sandals. This is a dress I need to get more use out this season by adding sweaters and tights.

So much Fall! This was such a fun day at the apple orchard with Derek. I felt perfectly festive in a cape and an acorn-printed top. Booties and layering with a sweater added more fall vibes.

Simple but one of my favorites. High-waisted pants are my favorite fit and I love adding the height with my platform sandals. The mockneck was also a great transition from indian summer into fall.

I think this may be one of my favorite looks from the year because I'm a sucker for Christmas-y sweaters! Wearing maroon pants instead of regular jeans switches up a casual look.

Plaid. Booties. Hat. Coffee. These are a few of my favorite things...casual but this outfit included so many of my favorite pieces!

Different than my usual day-to-day outfits but it was fun to wear a graphic tee with a big skirt! Even on a rainy Christmas Eve day.

Simple but chic. Cranberry red is one of my favorite colors to wear and I felt dressed up but comfortable in this. And being comfortable makes for being a lot more confident. Plus, my Kate Spade is throw in there and I love my Kate Spade!

Next week look for my top 12 favorite places that I travelled to this year! In the meantime, here's my top 12 outfits from 2014. Have a happy new year everybody!

Christmas Eve

Because what kind of Christmas Eve is complete without a festive outfit? Just wanted to share a quick post and wish you all a very Merry Christmas! Enjoy your Christmas Eve! Derek and I will be sipping wine, baking cookies and exchanging gifts tonight and heading to our hometown in the morning. Happy Holidays everyone!

New Christmas Traditions

This will be mine and Derek's seventh Christmas to spend together, but our first living together! It's hard to believe we moved in together four months ago. It's fun to look forward to new traditions now that we are together more than ever. We put up our little fake Christmas tree (our building doesn't allow real ones) and decorated our tree with the few ornaments that we have!

Derek surprised me with a "Our First Christmas Together" ornament! And in Derek fashion, he just scribbled our names and date on the back with a sharpie. I'm looking forward to picking up more ornaments here and there for our tree for future Christmas's together.

I'm so excited for Christmas Eve tomorrow! We will be continuing our Christmas Eve traditions that we have had since our first Christmas together which include opening each other's presents and baking cookies. What does your Christmas Eve look like?

Mixing Colors and Texture

They say not to mix black and blue, but I've never been opposed to mixing those two colors. (And besides, who is THEY?) Together, they can create a very rich and festive look - especially with a pop of red lipstick. Both of these pieces are older, with Christmas right around the corner I'm trying to save my money for gift-giving instead of new pieces for myself. You can freshen up a wardrobe by mixing unexpected colors and textures, like I tried to with a little bit of lace and quilted leather. So, who's ready for Christmas!? 3 more days to go!

Rose Garden

I'm not opposed to breaking out the florals during the colder months. I'm all for a girly print and this floral and lace Topshop skirt fits perfectly into my wardrobe. I actually bought it earlier this year in London when I was looking for a Valentine's Day outfit! I wore it in Dover, England (and hiked up a legit cliff in it) for a "Galentines" day trip with my friends, which you can read about HERE. Topshop always has loads of adorable skirts to choose from. I'm currently obsessing over THIS checked a-line skirt and THIS denim mini.
Red is one of my favorite colors to wear during this time of year, it just feels so festive! It's amazing how the little things seem to matter so much around the holidays. We get so excited about things like peppermint hot chocolate, candy canes and a few twinkling lights. What if we lived our whole year like that? Getting excited for the little things, most of us would be at least a smidge happier. I hope you all are having a lovely December so far, and can find a little bit of time for yourselves between the hustle and bustle of the season!
