Pumpkin Spice

My go to Starbucks drink for the Fall season is the pumpkin spice latte. I'm obsessed with anything pumpkin flavored. I get super into seasons, so, of course, my favorite colors to wear during the Fall are shades of orange and brown. With Thanksgiving coming up tomorrow, it will be the end of the pumpkin spice season and into the peppermint mocha and eggnog latte season. Is it sad to compare your life to Starbucks drinks? Obviously I'm a little too obsessed.

Happy almost Thanksgiving!

About Time

Photos from here

There are certain movies that I buy right when they come out on DVD and watch them over and over again. After seeing this movie with some of my friends the day after it hit theaters, I can tell you this is one of them. We laughed, we cried, we all felt so many emotions and fell in love with the characters and the family. To me, that's what makes a film great. After hearing about it being made from the people who created Love Actually, I was already sold and the film exceeded my expectations by far (and trust me, they were already high). I honestly can't remember the last time I saw a movie I loved this much. Plus, on top of loving the movie I absolutely loved Rachel McAdam's character's closet, 'Mary: lived above a vintage shop, so of course most of the costumes had a vintage or quirky twist to them.

The main idea is that the main character, Tim (played by Dublin-based actor Domhnall Gleeson) finds out from his father that he can travel through time on his 21st birthday. I thought the movie was going to focus a lot on this, but I felt that the focus was more about appreciating the time that we do have, and that we don't have to relive every day in order to find something good out of it. I don't want to say anymore, because I don't want to ruin it, but trust me when I say GO SEE IT!

Busy Patterns

Sweater: LC Lauren Conrad, Pants: Elle, Shoes: Sole Society, Bag: Francesca's

It's Friday and I can't be more relieved. It's been a hard week but I'm looking up to the weekend and for Thanksgiving Break next week. Sometimes you just need a patterned sweater to throw on with a colorful pair of jeans during a busy week. Oh, and maybe add some sparkly oxfords for some fun.

Happy Weekend!

Leather Lines

Top: Merona at Target, Skirt: Forever 21

A few months ago when I was flipping through magazines and browsing through lookbooks I saw leather pencil skirts everywhere. I happened to already have one I bought from a friend my freshman year of college and hardly ever wore it other than to a few really awful college parties where I ended up leaving shortly after arriving so i was excited to bring it out of my closest, but for dressed up everyday wear.
This top has some fun little leather accents as well, like where it buttons down the front so it was fun to throw that together. What would you pair with a leather pencil skirt?

Victoria's Secret Fashion Show

Who else is super excited for the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show to air December 10th? I saw plenty of videos on instagram and tumblr, but I'm looking forward to how they put it together for TV. And of course I'm excited to see Taylor Swift perform "My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark" with Fallout Boy and "I Knew You Were Trouble". Is this a fashion show you pay attention to or something you're not as interested in?

Deepest Blue

Dress: Thrifted, Pearls: Vintage (from my great-grandmother)

I'm starting to think I'm a complete girly-girl when it comes to personal style. There's nothing I love more than an A-line dress and pearls to wear out on a date, even a casual one. And HELLO bare legs, won't be seeing you again for at least five months. I remember Derek taking these back in September of me during one of his weekend trips here, I definitely have some catching up to do on this blog. This outfit would still be super transitional for the Fall season, just add a pair of tights and swap out the loafers for some oxfords and ta-da, that's it. I actually wore this dress over the weekend styled with some vintage red kitten heels and tights and it worked out wonderfully. Gotta love those $15 thrift store dresses.
