Sleepy Days

Sweater: Forever 21, Skirt: Old Navy, Shoes: Thrifted

Is anybody else so tired of this dreary winter weather? Lately I feel like Spring is never going to come. The few days that there has been warmth and sunshine, I felt so motivated but then it's back to bundling up once again. If I could name one good thing involving cold weather it would be the comfy sweaters that I get to wear all day. This one in particular, is my favorite and so warm so it adds a later of warmth to my day.

Sorry for the unexpected week and a half delay in posting, mid-terms are rolling around the corner adding to the already hectic-ness that is surrounding the semester. Spring break is only 9 days away and I'm counting down the days. It's hard to believe I haven't been home in 5 and a half weeks, time is flying by.

Jenny Packham Fall 2013

I love how different these shades of washed out pastels are and hushed jewel tones in Jenny Packham's Fall collection. Her assortment of evening gowns are so beautiful, they make me want to walk a red carpet  in them. Plus, the first row of tea length dresses are about as adorable as high-fashion gets. There have been so many different looks with fashion week just ending in New York and it's been so fun to see what trends are ahead of us this year. Any favorites?

Style Remix: Mustard Skirt

This mustard skirt I got on sale at Forever 21 years ago for $7 has become one of my favorite go-to ieces. It seems like mustard can be the perfect Fall, Winter, Spring or Summer color and it coordinates so well with so many of my pieces. The outfit with the peter pan collar was all the way back from Summer of 2011, while the polka dot outfit is only from a month ago. It's fun to see my style change through the years through this blog.
Lately I've been waiting for warmer weather to start wearing skirts again. I miss my go-to pieces but this weather makes baring my legs, even with tights, not an option.

Our Early Valentines Day

"The stake's are high, the water's rough, but this love is ours."

Last weekend was one of the best weekends I've had in a while. Derek and I had not seen each other in nearly three weeks and by the end of that last week, time was dragging on. I'm so thankful to be going to school in this wonderful city of Philadelphia. It's also perfect being in such a busy city since I'm a journalism student and will have more intern opportunities in the next year or two, but I hate having to wait a month or so until I get to see Derek or my family again. It makes me really appreciate the time we have together when we do see each other.

Anyways, last weekend Derek came Thursday night and stayed until Sunday afternoon and we had the most relaxing weekend ever. We also considered this our Valentines Day weekend since we won't see each other tomorrow. We usually go out  and explore the city more, but since it was so cold we stayed in and cooked, baked and watched plenty of "The Office". Definitely a much needed weekend for the two of us.

For Valentine's Day, I got Derek a new pair of red pajama bottoms and a few new shirts from Urban Outfitters as well as tons of his favorite candy and a Taylor Swift card that sang "Mine"! Derek got me my favorite chocolates, the cutest little flowers that were easy to bring on the train and a really cool picture holder thing for pictures of us!

And now, the count down begins until we get to see each other again. 23 more days until Spring Break.

Grammy's 2013

Country Queens; Taylor Swift in J. Mendel and Kimberly Schlapman of "Little Big Town" in Maria Luisa Hohan

Bombshell Reds; Natasha Bedingfield in Emerson and Rihanna in a custom Alaia dress

Top Models; Karlie Kloss in Michael Kohrs and Alexa Chung in Valentino

Last night was my favorite award show of the season, the Grammy's! I always tend to like the award shows that have a ton of performances. I was so excited when Taylor Swift won a grammy before the show for her collaboration of "Safe and Sound" and the fact that she opened the show! What were your favorite parts of the night? And favorite outfits? The six above were my favorite looks of the night.

Color Coordination

Top: LC by Lauren Conrad, Jeans: PacSun, Flats: New York and Company

I've never been one to be picky about matching my shoes to my shirt but when I bought this LC by Lauren Conrad top I knew it would match my blue color blocked flats perfectly. I don't plan on doing this for every outfit, but it was fun to color coordinate these two together. I also love how this becomes the statement of the outfit, so accessories aren't even necessary.

Also, I'm so obsessed with the LC by Conrad brand at Kohls, I normally don't shop there but ever since I laid my eyes on that brand I always do a quick check in now to see what's new. Are there any specific brands that draw you into a store?
