City Street Style

All of a sudden, I am put in to a world where people are dressing more like themselves. Back home, the majority people wore things like Hollister or Aeropostale. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing wrong with those brands, but can you really say that if you wore a top with the logo "Hollister" across it, it would define you? Of course, being in the city, it's not the most sensible idea to wear huge platform heels while you're running to and from classes. I have always admired "The Sartorialist" and it's way of presenting street style. Here' some of my current favorites.

Philadelphia has been such an amazing experience so far. I am so glad I took the leap and am taking a chance to go here. I've gone to center city twice since I got here. I haven't had much time for exploring because of all of this college stuff but I can't wait to visit historical points of Philly, art muesams, Rittenhouse Park and go to Pats. This is an outfit I wore on one of my last days back home. Mustard is so popular this season, I think it's so easy to pair up with other simple colors and patterns. These oxfords are my favorite for fall.

Hello Philadelphia!

Hey everybody! I want you to know that I have finally made it in to Philadelphia and I love it so much. I am in love with the people, the craziness, the tall buildings, just everything! I've only been here 2 nights and I already feel like I'm where I'm supposed to be. I do get homesick and I really miss my best friends, my parents and Derek but I just keep reminding myself that I'm starting a new chapter. A lot is going on right now so I am just going to upload some pictures of my dorm. I don't have my nice camera with me right now, sorry for the low quality pictures!

Orange-Ginger Fish Sandwiches

Last week I cooked, instead of baked, for the first time in what feels like forever. It was a hot day so my family decided on sandwiches and fries. I decided to make a baked fish sandwich using "tilapia" and an orange ginger sauce. It turned out so good on kaiser rolls with fresh lettuce and the sauce. I seasoned french fries with old bay and that was the perfect touch to this meal! You can check out the recipe here. It only took a few minutes to make and it was so worth it.

Hey everybody! Sorry for the delay in, well, everything. Things have been so hectic. I move to Philadelphia in only a week and I have only just began to pack and go through my room. Tonight I am having an "80's movie night" with some of my best friends where we are going to enjoy movies like "Pretty in Pink" and "The Breakfast Club". I'm really excited about it! This dress is one of my new favorites, I got it at Target for only $13! Also, I have been wearing these strappy wedged sandals all the time, they go with everything! I paired this outfit with my favorite revlon lipstick. I wore this outfit out on a date with Derek.

This has became one of my favorite vintage inspired outfits. The only real vintage piece in this outfit though is the owl necklace. I love how the red eyes make it look almost posessed. I always like my jewelry to be "different". I have been living in these oxfords ever since I bought them! They were on sale for only $10 so I had to buy them. When Derek takes my outfit photos we usually just use "auto" and we noticed after we took these at dusk that it was on the manual the whole time and I love how they turned out!
