Spring Sweaters

Spring sweaters are the way to go for those mild April days where the chill is still lingering in the air. Spring mornings are usually cool but once the sun makes its way out there's warmth all day long. I don't know about you, but my arms are always colder than my legs! My go-to for spring days are skirts (without tights, finally) but with a long sleeve top or sweater. This LOFT sweater is too cute with the oversized sleeves and the text. I paired it with my pale pink corduroy skirt which works for any season. Also, I can't get enough of white shoes for spring. The next thing to buy on my wish list? White mules!

Happy Tuesday! I hope you all had a great weekend and Monday! It was so nice to spend the majority of the weekend outdoors. Yesterday was mine and Derek's 9 year anniversary. NINE YEARS. Not really sure how time has gone by that quickly. Sometimes it feels like we were just in high school, sneaking in a kiss or two between classes at our lockers. Now we're both "adults" living in Philadelphia and building our life together. We celebrated with drinks at my favorite Belgium Cafe in Fairmount, ice cream (of course) and dinner last night at Jack's Firehouse. What did you do this weekend?

Wednesday Wishlist: LOFT Friends & Family Event

There are so many go-to stores I have when it comes to shopping. One that has been my go-to for years? LOFT! I know how the clothes are going to fit me 99% of the time and you can always find a good deal. Plus, I love how so many LOFT pieces work for the office or for the weekend. So much versatility! Right now the Friends and Family spring event is happening - which means 40% off of EVERYTHING. Here are a few items I wish I could add to my shopping cart....

Paris Photo Diary: Part 1

Paris Photo Diary: Part 1 | Organized Mess

Paris is one of those cities I find myself going back to over and over again. Last year my best friend and I took a week long vacation in the middle of winter to Paris and it was STILL so magical despite how gray and cold it was. Here's a glimpse at what the first few days were like.

1- 6. Roaming the streets, stopping in bakeries and boutiques as we pleased.
7 - 8. Breakast at Strada Cafe which was right around the corner from the place we were staying.
9 - 10. Stumbled upon this area after browsing thrift stores. We stopped in so many bakeries and to be honest I have no idea what the name of most of them were.
11-15. Spending an afternoon at The Louvre.
16-20. Walking around and stopping for treats (and hot cocoa) at Angelina's.

Wear to Work: Plaid

Business Casual
Plaid and gingham are my go-to patterns. They work well for both work and play, which is always a plus. This plaid shift dress has a classic fit and a fun twist with trendy sleeves. I'm loving the sleeve trend right now - flare sleeves, fun details and bold shoulders, it's so 80's but I can't resist! If I was wearing this dress out and about during the weekend I would probably opt for metallic sneakers or sandals. If you're looking to dress something up for work booties, heels or a nice pair of flats is always a good way to go. Booties can work all spring long but I am SO excited to lose the tights once it's warm enough. Where are you, spring?

Small Space Living

Home Decor

Last weekend Derek and I signed a lease for a new apartment. Our current apartment is going to be renovated so we actually have to move. We've been in this apartment for nearly 3 years now which is almost the longest I've ever been in one place. It's going to be a bit sad to leave the first place that we called home together but we are still excited about starting fresh in a new space.

The only issue? It's going to be a whopping 500 square feet. Our apartment now is a loft style apartment so it technically has a "bedroom" but the entire apartment is open. So no walls. Derek and I can see each other no matter where we're at in the apartment at all times with the exception of when we are in the closet or in the bathroom. It's 620 square feet so we're going to be losing 120 square feet in our new place but adding a wall - an actual bedroom. It's going to be a change and we're aware that losing that120 square feet means losing a few of our (already few) possessions. But this is city living after all! And another plus is that the ceilings are high so it will create the illusion of more space. Here's a look at a few small spaces, specifically living rooms, inspiring me.
